У дуэта есть собственный лейбл Lazy Hooks, на котором и записывались музыканты.Дебютный ЕР Capital Cities вышел в июне 2011 года, заглавной песней стала Safe and Sound. Но популярность дуэт обрел лишь после релиза полноценного альбома In a Tidal Wave of Mystery в 2013 году. Пластинка дебютировала на 66-м месте в чарте альбомов Billboard-200. Safe and Sound стала первым синглом и главным хитом группы. Песня использовалась в рекламных роликах нескольких марок.
