Занимался музыкой с ранних лет, самостоятельно научился играть на гитаре, выступал со знаменитыми оркестрами. Стоит у истоков французского рока. В 1956 году записал пластинку с первым французским рок-н-ролл исполнителем Борисом Вианом. Дебютный сингл: Clopin clopant.
