Digests

The week in brief

The week of August 31 to September 6 has a new number one. Если я буду танцевать, by Баста & Моя Мишель, is no longer chasing the leading pair: it heads MintBear's weekly chart. Its 367 plays represent a gain of 52 over the previous week's 315. That continues a movement already visible in August, when the recording rose from thirteenth to third. The latest result gives that earlier advance a clear next chapter.

Last week's review left three questions open. Would the challenger hold a Top 3 place? Would DA TI — Take Me There remain in the Top 5? Would IOWA — МЫ take the next step from sixth? The first two tests have been passed, at numbers one and four respectively. The third remains unresolved: IOWA stays sixth on exactly 265 plays. Revisiting those expectations is more useful than pretending every weekly chart starts a completely separate story.

Across seven days, the daily digests recorded 499457 plays, an average of 71351 a day, and an average daily count of 36092 distinct tracks. Daily digest coverage remained at 167 stations. The weekly volume gain was only 934 plays, approximately 0.19%. That is background, not evidence of a dramatic expansion. The important question is which recordings gained a larger presence within a broadly steady flow of music.

What stood out most

The current weekly chart, compared with the previous chart, reveals several different paths rather than a wholesale replacement of familiar names. Madonna & Martin Garrix — Bizarre remains second, with 353 plays instead of 357. AVE — Meet Me In The Dark slips from first to third, falling from 360 to 337. The new leader is 14 plays ahead of Bizarre and 30 ahead of AVE: a meaningful advantage, but not an insurmountable one.

Further down, LYRIQ — Аутентичная adds 88 plays, moving from 164 to 252 and gaining 24 places. FAST BOY — Music Sounds rises from 112 to 208, a gain of 96, and moves from number 65 to number 20. Both reach their best positions in the available chart history. Neither should be described as a chart debut: each is making its second weekly appearance. The distinction matters because these are developing runs, not isolated first sightings.

Holding a position does not necessarily mean holding the same volume. Take Me There remains fourth despite easing from 288 to 282. IOWA keeps both its position and its exact total. In the other direction, JONY & FEDUK — LETO falls from eighth to seventeenth, losing 49 plays as its count drops from 260 to 211. Some recordings are consolidating, others are gaining ground, and others are retreating. One broad description of the week's mood cannot account for all three patterns.

How the mood shifted

Mood Map does not suggest an emotional reversal. The energetic category ranged from 61.7% to 62.1%, while the romantic category ranged from 19.8% to 20.0%. The previous review reported 61.6–61.8% and 19.9–20.1%. There is a small movement, but it is much less striking than a gain of 24 or 45 chart positions. It belongs in the context of the article, not in a claim that one successful recording changed the character of the entire broadcast week.

September 2 was the most distinctive day: the energetic category reached 62.1%, and the within-day range of the dance score reached 0.020, compared with 0.003 on September 1. These are calculated descriptions of the music, not measurements of listeners' feelings. By the weekend, the daily ranges were small again. It is possible that parts of the schedule contributed to the difference, but the available sources do not identify a single event, artist or release as its cause.

Station segments preserve different sides of the selection. DFM Pioneer and DFM Party sit within the energetic profile, while Russian Radio Kids Channel sits within the romantic profile. Those labels classify the musical stream; they do not describe the psychology of its audience. Аутентичная gained its plays inside this established setting. A direct causal connection between its rise and the Mood Map changes would go beyond the evidence.

What kept recurring

The new leader did not depend on one exceptional day. Its sequence was 55, 51, 55, 52, 54, 50 and 50 plays. Bizarre recorded 49, 52, 50, 51, 51, 50 and 50. Both appear in all seven daily analytics snapshots. The cards therefore show weekly totals, not a particularly successful day's value presented as a week. Аутентичная is similarly consistent within this period, with between 33 and 37 appearances each day despite its substantial gain over the previous week.

Music Sounds follows a different shape: it starts at 26 plays and finishes at 36, with a small Friday dip. LETO runs the other way, from 33 to 27, although Thursday briefly returns to 32. Neither sequence is a perfectly uninterrupted trend. Their general direction nevertheless helps explain the final chart movement and gives us something specific to check again next week, rather than a prediction based only on the size of a position change.

The broader musical framework remains familiar. Dance accounts for 218657 category appearances, electronic for 192592 and pop for 138633. The driving selection records 316777 and the work selection 77696. These categories overlap and cannot be added together as independent portions of the total. They identify continuing areas of activity within which individual recordings trade places; they do not indicate that the whole station collection suddenly adopted a different repertoire.

The week's turning points

  • A new leader: Если я буду танцевать extends its August advance and reaches #1 with 367 plays.
  • A new Top 10 contender: Аутентичная moves #32 → #8 with 252 plays.
  • A Top 20 breakthrough: Music Sounds moves #65 → #20 and closes on 36 daily plays.
  • The reverse direction: LETO loses 49 plays and slips #8 → #17.
  • Earlier tests revisited: Take Me There holds #4; IOWA — МЫ remains #6 without a volume increase.

September 3 brings its own musical ritual: Михаил Шуфутинский — 3-е сентября returns to the airwaves. This is a long-established song played to mark that particular date, not a new release. Its place in the digest is a calendar highlight: a familiar recording becomes timely again because of the day itself, rather than because it belongs to the latest batch of releases.

Shorter movements deserve a separate scale of attention. BTS — SWIM goes from 18 to 24 daily plays on September 2, while KATSEYE — Animal rises from 30 to 35 on September 4. The latter also improves in the weekly chart, from #15 to #12 and from 216 to 226. That is a modest weekly confirmation of a daily signal, not evidence of a sudden takeover. Keeping the two time scales distinct makes the comparison more useful.

What to watch next week

  • Если я буду танцевать: hold #1 after 367 plays; a fall below the Top 3 would weaken the consolidation signal.
  • Аутентичная: retain a Top 10 place and at least 252 weekly plays; leaving the Top 10 would challenge the current momentum.
  • Music Sounds: stay in the Top 20 after 208 plays; a higher weekly total would confirm further progress.

Bizarre is only 14 plays behind the leader and keeps a remarkably regular daily presence. A relatively small redistribution could therefore change the top again. For Аутентичная, maintaining its new level matters more than producing another spectacular jump. Music Sounds faces a particularly clear test because twentieth is still the boundary of the group it has just entered. These are thresholds to revisit, not confident forecasts of what stations will programme.

The earlier questions still matter too. Take Me There has proved its Top 5 resilience without adding plays, while IOWA remains close to the first five but needs a fresh increase to strengthen its case. Confidence should come from the next set of comparable results, not from simply extending August's trajectory. For now, the supported conclusion is straightforward: the leader changed, two challengers advanced sharply, and the broad musical background remained steady.

Now playing is temporarily unavailable.
